Construction debris should be planned by phase and material, not described as one mixed pile. Demolition may create dense plaster and tile early, while framing creates bulky wood later.
Build a debris schedule
List the work phases and the materials each creates. Note concrete, brick, dirt, roofing, treated wood, drywall, metal, and general trash separately. Ask whether any need a dedicated load.
Draw the truck path
Mark gates, parked vehicles, scaffolding, material stacks, overhead wires, and the active work area. Keep the route available for both delivery and pickup.
Control the fill line
Assign one person to watch the load. Keep long pieces, sharp edges, and loose debris contained. Never alter or move the container without approval.
Ask the provider
- Which materials must remain separate?
- What weight and fill rules apply?
- How is pickup requested?
- What access must stay clear?
